Grand Canyon by Tesla

The Grand Canyon is the most iconic stop on any USA road trip — and completely relaxed to reach by Tesla. From Las Vegas it is 280 miles with one Supercharger stop in Kingman, and inside the park you charge overnight at a destination charger.

Charging at the Grand Canyon

The approach is fully Supercharger-covered: Kingman (from Las Vegas) or Flagstaff and Williams (from the south). Inside the park your Tesla charges at the Maswik Lodge destination charger — you wake up with a full battery.

Range anxiety is a non-issue here: our AI route planner app schedules every charging stop automatically and shows availability in real time.

Camping right at the South Rim

Mather Campground ($18/night, reserve 6 months ahead) is a two-minute walk from the rim — elk graze between the tents in the morning. With the rooftop tent on the Model Y or Camp Mode inside, you sleep more comfortably than any RV cliché.

Sunrise at Mather Point, a hike on the Bright Angel Trail, sunset at Hopi Point — plan at least two full days.

Best time to visit

March–May and September–November are ideal: mild hiking weather, smaller crowds. In summer, go early morning and evening; in winter the South Rim stays open and gloriously empty — no problem with a heated Tesla cabin.
