The Grand Circle: America's Most Beautiful Loop
Las Vegas → Zion → Bryce Canyon → Capitol Reef → Grand Canyon → Las Vegas. 1,000 miles through red sandstone, slot canyons and night skies without light pollution. This route is why we founded Go Iconic Way.
The Grand Circle is made for electric vehicles: distances between parks are manageable (100–200 miles), the Supercharger network in Utah and Arizona is growing fast, and Camp Mode makes every night under the stars comfortable.
Day by Day: 7 Days Grand Circle
Day 1: Las Vegas → Zion National Park
Distance: 170 mi · Charging: 1× Supercharger in St. George (25 min)
Morning pickup in Las Vegas. On the way north: quick stop in St. George to charge. Afternoon arrival in Springdale at the park entrance.
Evening tip: Reserve Watchman Campground (6 months ahead!). Or try free dispersed camping on adjacent BLM land.
Day 2: Zion National Park
Full day in the park. The shuttle bus takes you through Zion Canyon — your Tesla rests in the parking lot.
Must-Do:
- Angels Landing (strenuous, 5 mi, permit required)
- The Narrows (wading in the Virgin River, wetsuit in fall)
- Canyon Overlook Trail (short, spectacular, no reservation needed)
Tesla tip: Charge overnight in Springdale (Destination Charger at several hotels). The park itself has no charging station.
Day 3: Zion → Bryce Canyon
Distance: 84 mi · Charging: Destination Charger in Bryce is sufficient
The short drive over Mount Carmel Highway is already a highlight — the tunnel through red rock, then through Sevier Valley.
Bryce Canyon Highlights:
- Sunset Point at sunrise (yes, sunrise — the hoodoos glow orange)
- Navajo Loop + Queen's Garden Trail combo (2.5 mi, moderate)
- Ranger night sky program (Bryce is an International Dark Sky Park)
Camp: North Campground (in-park, reservation recommended). Alternative: Red Canyon Campground (free, 15 min west).
Day 4: Bryce → Capitol Reef
Distance: 124 mi · Charging: No Superchargers on this stretch — start with a full battery!
The quietest leg and perhaps the most beautiful. Highway 12 — one of America's ten most scenic roads — winds over Hogsback Ridge. Left and right: 1,000-foot drops.
Capitol Reef: The least-visited park on the Circle. Petroglyphs, Mormon pioneer orchards, Capitol Gorge Trail. Fruita Campground (12 sites, first come first served).
Charging strategy: Level 2 stations in Torrey. Overnight charging is enough for the next leg.
Day 5: Capitol Reef → Page / Lake Powell
Distance: 162 mi · Charging: Supercharger in Page
South through Utah's Mars-like backcountry. Once in Page: top up at the Supercharger.
Page highlights:
- Horseshoe Bend (10-minute walk, free)
- Antelope Canyon (book a tour — Lower is less crowded)
- Lake Powell kayak at sunset
Day 6: Page → Grand Canyon South Rim
Distance: 130 mi · Charging: Destination Charger at Grand Canyon (Maswik Lodge)
The drive through Navajo Nation and Cameron Trading Post. At the Grand Canyon: the moment everyone goes silent.
Grand Canyon essentials:
- Mather Point (first view, 2 minutes from Visitor Center)
- Rim Trail (13 mi, flat, every section is worth it)
- Bright Angel Trail (first 2 miles only, unless you're fit and carrying water)
- Desert View Watchtower (east rim, fewer tourists)
Camp: Mather Campground (in-park, reserve 6 months out) or Ten-X Campground (20 min south, often available).
Day 7: Grand Canyon → Las Vegas
Distance: 275 mi · Charging: Supercharger in Kingman + Las Vegas
Return via I-40 and I-93. Stop in Kingman to charge and grab lunch. Arrive in Las Vegas late afternoon. Vehicle return.

Packing List for the Grand Circle
Booked through our platform, everything's included. If you're packing yourself:
- Hiking boots (Zion Narrows: waterproof boots)
- Sun protection (SPF 50, hat, sunglasses — the desert doesn't forgive)
- 3 liters of water per person per hiking day
- Headlamp (for night sky programs and early starts)
- Layers (Bryce can drop below freezing at night, even in September)
Best Time to Go
- September–October: Ideal. 60–82°F during the day, cool nights, no crowds.
- March–May: Wildflowers in Zion, but the Narrows often still closed (snowmelt).
- June–August: Hot at the Grand Canyon (100°F+). Bryce is more pleasant (elevation).
